Amgydex Eye Oint is an ophthalmic ointment used for the treatment of bacterial infections. It belongs to the class of medicine known as aminoglycoside. It has two main ingredients, dexamethasone and tobramycin. Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid that works by reducing the effects of bacterial infection including swelling and inflammation, while chloramphenicol works by reducing the growth of bacteria. It helps with a number of bacterial eye infections like blepharitis, keratitis and conjunctivitis. The medicine is easy to apply and comes in a tube. The ointment should be applied directly to the affected area, three to four times a day or as directed by the health professional.
